We attended the last of Eaton Hall’s Garden Open days for 2015 this weekend and what a fabulous afternoon out right on our doorstep.

Eaton Hall Chester - Review My Trip Travel Blog

The gardens of Eaton Hall open their doors four times a year to raise money for various charities.

The Eaton Estate is part of the Grosvenor Estate and is a private, family owned, organisation with Eaton Hall being the home of the Duke of Westminster and the Grosvenor family.

The formal gardens were an inspiration (as a keen gardener myself) and the wider grounds were a lovely setting for a bimble with both the beardy faced ones (dog and husband; well behaved dogs are welcome…. the husband was pretty well behaved too).

The main hall and surrounding buildings were impressive, with other points of interest such as the Duke’s military museum and the Westminster Carriage collection on view.

The whole site was an absolute credit to the staff who obviously work very hard to maintain such high standards.

Entry prices were; Adults £7, Children £2 Family £16 and for us it was £14 well spent.

If you’d like to book onto the miniature railway, arrive early to ensure you can book tickets to ride during your visit.

Refreshments available.

Date of Visit: August 2015
