The Chester Fields is a well styled country pub and restaurant 4 miles outside of Chester. It has a large, well landscaped Al fresco area for sipping Pimms during the Summer months and Schnapps when it gets chilly.

I visited last night with friends for their gin and food pairing evening, hosted in conjunction with Warner Edwards Gin.
£25 for 5 plates and gins was incredible value. We were slightly concerned the £25 was only a deposit and we were going to be stung with a large bill at the end of the evening!
The menu (pictured) was creative and each gin brought out the best in the food and vice versa. As a self-confessed gin witch, it was great to better understand how food and gin pairings can elevate each other in the way a well-chosen, good wine can.

Andy from Warner Edwards was on hand to answer any of our questions and we even had a sneaky pre-launch taste of their new Honeybee gin. I’m looking forward to experimenting with different mixers to accompany the new addition to the Warner Edwards family. With honey notes, I’m sure it will suit being warmed up with spicy flavours for Winter and cooled down with mint and botanicals for the Summer.
The team at The Chester Fields were friendly and knowledgeable…in fact, the service was faultless. I’m looking forward to going back to try their full menu.
