Craft Beer For the People
I’m a huge fan of Brew Dog and their ethos and always make a bee line for their light and airy bar in Camden whenever I’m in London. It has a great atmosphere and we enjoy whiling away the hours, working our way through the extensive list of craft beers.

When I spotted their Manchester bar on a recent visit to the city, I felt I had to introduce my friends to the delights of Brew Dog. Unfortunately we were all left a bit disappointed. The Manchester bar fails to capture the Brew Dog spirit in the same way as the Camden bar.
I seemed to know more about Brew Dogs processes and beers than the staff when I asked about how many times Sink The Bismarck was freeze distilled compared to Tactical Nuclear Penguin (either can aptly be described by the cliché ‘will put hairs on your chest’) and the overall atmosphere was one of depression with sad, down beat music matching the down beat mood of clientèle and staff. Perhaps everyone was suffering after a heavy weekend?!

There are plenty of other Brewdog bars in the UK though and I won’t let this put me of trying the others. Brewdog as a company have a great attitude and I’m sure our experience could be chalked up to a bad day.
I’m excited to see they are rolling out ‘Bottledogs’ across the UK too so that you can enjoy their full range of crafty beery delights at home.
